Last meeting of the year April 7
News:
Our Trails were maintained by the grooming crew well with many hours put in, thanks to them for there effort. Do to a broken fan belt we lost the motor out of one sled for good and a chain case in another but back in service in less than a week, oh well it's just money. We are looking for a long wide track replacement for next season. We made 3 club rides this year bringing out members and friends who had not been out of town in years and are looking forward to next year. Again this year at Bill's home a 4th of July party will be held in late afternoon to take advantage of the fire works on Echo Lake. As a fund raiser is needed we will once again have a yard sale July 25 on Rt. 17 across from the Fayette Store. This fall we should be able to finally be able to reroute ITS 115 at Oak Hill thanks to one generous land owner, we were unable to get all we wanted but it will be a big improvement. Our last meeting this year will be April 7 with election of officers and holding the first meeting in Sep. to get a jump on the next season are on the agenda plus allocating funds for a replacement sled. We saw unregistered sleds this year on our trails in larger numbers that in the past. A few I spoke to felt the chance of getting caught and fined was worth it and why join a club when I can ride for free (no work). With that out of my head I'll feel better until next year, see you in the fall.
Thanks for help this past season.

PLEASE RIDE SAFE - - - SHARE THE TRAILS

Before going out on the trail tell someone where you are going, the route and expected return time. If unfamilar with the area get a local trail map. Most local stores, town offices and clubs will have them check also on-line. If you have a break down on a marked trail stay with the sled, help will be along soon. A cell phone will speed up the rescue. Many clubs, as we do have donated a rescue-bogan to the fire department and are on call to help the responce in the event of an injury. Carry a flashlight, matches, tow rope, water and food should not be an after thought. A booklet " YOU ALONE IN MAINE WOODS " is available FREE at the DIF&W on www.mefishwildlife.com or 207-287-8000.
